Turbine F-106 kit and bypass $1075

This aircraft was chosen as my trainer not a scale project.

Nothing slows down better than a delta when you raise the nose.

It finally flies.

I have finally got my DF 106 off the ground. Power is a .81 Viojett.
It was very easy to control. I had too much up to start with and it just mushed
around climbing slowly. I trimed down and the rate of climb increased.
For landing power was reduced to 50% and the aircraft was flown down to two feet out at about 100' down wind. Throttle was closed, nose up a little and landing was front and center. This is a bare aircraft, it weight is under 17 Lb. It has no main doors or cockpit. It will fly nicely at sea level and 70 F.

I have used their epoxy paint with good results.
They have Air Defense Gray for the F-106, this was the overall color.
You have clear epoxy or urethane (UV protection) as a top coat.
I have mixed DayGlo powder in clear epoxy with good results.

BIOGRAPHY

I would like to introduce myself. Name Darryl Usher born 1935.
Built stick and tissue airplanes in the 40's
Did C/L and FF in the 50's. Got into RC in 53.
Received my pilot's license in 53 and my engine repair license in 54.
Drafted into the Army 1959.
Took courses via the Army in aeronautical engineering from Cal Berkley.
Competed in the 63 Nats, took 3rd in class 3.
Built a full size aircraft in 66 and 67. It was a Midget Mustang.
People wanted parts for this airplane so I started making them.
Working full time at IBM as a service rep. and later as a system engineer.
After retiring from IBM in 1986.
I opened a shop. It has grown to 8000 sq.feet and 3 shifts with 16 people.
We make about 8000 full size aircraft parts ribs, bulkheads, etc a month.
Model aviation is my hobby, it gets the same care as full size.

Retired from this business in Jan. 2000.
Model aviation is my only business now!
